Òran Mór in Glasgow’s West End is seeking a Live Music and Arts Programmer who blends commercial sense with a strong network in live entertainment and theatre. You will plan and deliver a diverse programme of visiting and in-house productions, and manage relationships with promoters, artists and agents.
This role offers growth as the group expands toward a major new Edinburgh venue, with opportunities to shape programming, attend festivals, and contribute to the venue’s ongoing success.
Òran Mór is a truly unique and iconic Scottish venue within Glasgow’s West End. Music and theatre is an important part of Òran Mór’s history and legacy with legendary gigs from the likes of The Libertines, China Crisis, Deacon Blue, Kate Nash, The Shires, Texas, London Grammar, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Emeli Sande, Gerry Cinnamon, Wolf Alice and more.
We also work closely with Celtic Connections, Glasgow International Comedy Festival, West Fest and The Glasgow Jazz Festival, meaning we need someone who has a full understanding of the live entertainment industry.
We are looking for a Live Music and Arts Programmer who combines strong commercial instincts with a well – developed network across the live entertainment and theatre industry. Someone who understands how deals get done, knows the promoter and agency landscape and who can plan and deliver a diverse programme of visiting and in-house productions.
This is a fantastic – and rarely available – role within Òran Mór. The role will be what you make it, you will be given the opportunity to grow your networks, manage a diverse programme of entertainment and make your mark on it. There is a real opportunity for development within this role / department, as the group continues to grow, with plans to open a major new music venue in Edinburgh. This candidate could play a pivotal role in the creation of that venue.
