Job summary

The Scotsman Group in Scotland is seeking an experienced Banqueting/Events professional to support the Banqueting Manager in daily operations across conference and banqueting areas, ensuring smooth service.

You will lead front-of-house teams, maintain presentation standards, coordinate with the sales team, handle guest requests, and ensure all procedures, costs and stock controls are followed.

Qualifications

• Hold the appropriate food safety certificate.
• Personal Licence Holder.
• Experience in Banqueting or Events is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Banqueting Manager in daily operations of Conference and Banqueting areas.
• Ensure open communication between operational and sales teams.
• Deliver prompt, attentive service to guests and maintain front-of-house presentation.
• Ensure maintenance across in-house teams is up-to-date.
• Conduct stock takes and inventory; liaise with guests and handle complaints.
• Lead teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
• Complete daily reports and departmental banking.
• Produce rotas and manage staffing in line with budgets.
• Adhere to company procedures on costs, wastage, breakages, security and stock control.
• Meet all company procedures and standards.

The Role

• Supporting the Banqueting Manager in carrying out all daily operations of the Conference and Banqueting areas.
• Ensure there is open communications at all times between the operational team and sales team.
• Ensure that all guests are given prompt, attentive service at all times.
• Ensure that all front of house areas are well presented, and ensure that all maintenance work carried out by the in-house team is up-to-date
• Conduct relevant stock takes and equipment inventory as required ? Liaise with guests and deal with any complaints as necessary
• Encourage teamwork, cooperation, productivity and a positive attitude within the working environment
• Complete all necessary daily reports and departmental banking
• Produce department rotas and ensure that daily staffing levels are in line with business levels and in accordance with budgeted ratios
• Ensure all procedures in regard to costs, wastage, breakages, security, stock control are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all required standards and procedures of the company are met.

The Person

• Hold the appropriate food safety certificate
• Personal Licence Holder.
• Experience in a similar role in Banqueting or Events.
• Great leadership skills and enjoy working as part of a team in a social environment.
• The ability to communicate at all levels
• A strong commercial awareness
• Availability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as per business needs.
