Job summary

Cambridgeshire Deaf Association in Peterborough is seeking a dedicated care support worker to provide high quality, person-centred 1:1 care to CDA Life clients across a range of settings. You will follow care plans, carry out tasks like personal care, domestic duties, accompany service users to activities, and liaise with the management team.

This role requires experience with deaf culture, fluent BSL, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with deaf people
  • Experience of working with people with disabilities or health needs
  • Knowledge of deaf culture
  • BSL level 2 or higher
  • Ability to record reports for service users on a digital system
  • Full driving licence is essential
  • Ability to follow care plans and assess risks
  • Professional image when dealing with professionals and family members
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality personal care and social inclusion support to service users
  • Travel to local events to create positive experiences for service users
  • Build relationships with service users and their families
  • Follow care plans and risk assessments and contribute to plan development
  • Deliver personalised, dignified and respectful care
  • Assist with daily living tasks including bills, cooking, personal care and hygiene
  • Facilitate access to local communities and services
  • Support service users in work, leisure and education activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records
  • Communicate needs to management and adapt communication methods as required

Skills

BSL level 2 or higher
Deaf culture knowledge
Report writing in digital system
Follow care plans and risk assessments
Evenings and weekends availability
Full driving licence
