Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Audio-Visual Support Technician to join the Media Services AV Team. You will provide hands-on technical support for teaching spaces, AV-enabled areas and events, working with a broad range of technologies including audio systems, displays, control systems, video systems, signal routing and live streaming.

You will install, maintain and configure AV technologies, support live events in a variety of roles including setup, sound, lighting,

Qualifications

HND or Level 5 qualification in a technology or related discipline, or demonstrable experience.
Strong communication skills to assist a wide range of users.
Experience supporting live events or educational environments is advantageous.
Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a professional team.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line audio-visual support across central teaching spaces and AV-enabled areas.
Install, maintain and configure a range of AV technologies and facilities.
Support live events in setup, sound, lighting, vision control, streaming and signal transmission.
Work with AV engineers, Media Services colleagues, and Campus Technology Services teams.
Assist staff and students with effective use of AV equipment and systems.
Deliver excellent customer service while resolving faults and escalating when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement and keep up to date with developments in AV technologies.
