Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Audio-Visual Support Technician to join its Media Services AV Team. You will provide hands-on technical support for teaching spaces, AV-enabled areas and events, working with a broad range of technologies including audio systems, displays, control systems, video systems, signal routing and live streaming.

Applicants should have an HND or Level 5 qualification or demonstrable experience, and be able to communicate clearly with users.

Qualifications

HND or Level 5 qualification in a technology or related discipline, or demonstrable experience.
Experience supporting live events or teaching environments is advantageous.
Confident using audio-visual and IT technologies and communicating with users.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line AV support across teaching spaces and AV-enabled areas.
Install, maintain and configure AV technologies and facilities.
Support live events in roles such as setup, sound, lighting, vision control, streaming and signal transmission.
Collaborate with AV engineers, Media Services and other teams across Campus Technology Services.
Assist staff and students in using AV equipment effectively.
Deliver excellent customer service, respond to faults, and escalate when needed.
Keep up to date with developments in professional AV technologies.
