Job summary

Keoghs is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of litigated Employer's and Public Liability claims for a major insurer client. You will take ownership from instruction through resolution, driving litigation strategy with support from a Technical Support Lawyer.

This is a busy role with autonomy across a varied caseload, including Infant Approval Hearings. The position requires strong EL/PL knowledge, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Experience handling litigated EL/PL claims.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation and the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience working within a delegated authority environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated EL/PL claims.
• Investigate liability, causation and quantum.
• Review pleadings, witness evidence, medical records and expert reports.
• Develop effective litigation and settlement strategies.
• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority limits.
• Handle claims proceeding through Infant Approval Hearings.
• Maintain accurate reserving and file management.
• Build strong relationships with the insurer client and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with a Technical Support Lawyer on complex cases and technical issues.
