Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Litigation Handler to manage EL/PL claims for public sector clients. The role covers issues to trial with a focus on achieving optimal outcomes. The position is based from the Tamworth office on a hybrid basis, offering flexible working options.

The successful candidate will hold a Law degree with LPC, have EL/PL litigation experience, and be able to work independently within a structured environment while maintaining strong communication with clients and peers.

Qualifications

• Law degree and LPC completed.
• Experience in EL/PL litigation and personal injury claims.
• Experience in defence claims handling, ideally within insurer or TPA.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently within a structured environment.
• Strong communication skills with peers, managers and clients.
• Flexible and willing to work extra hours when required.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Defend litigated EL/PL claims from issue to trial for large corporate clients.
• Handle small, fast and multi-track claims and support Partners as needed.
• Assess liability, set reserves, and investigate third-party merits.
• Negotiate with third parties, insurers and solicitors to secure best outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with Civil Procedure Rules and office protocols.
• Maintain data integrity in the case management system and supervise junior staff.
