Job summary

Keoghs' Retail Team seeks an Intermediate / Multi Track File Handler to manage a varied caseload of non-delegated EL and PL claims. The role focuses on litigated matters while handling pre-litigation work toward resolution and growth within a collaborative Corporate Sector Risk Practice.

Based in Liverpool, you will oversee cases from instruction through to conclusion, develop strategies, mentor juniors and ensure compliant client service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) Intermediate and/or Multi Track claims is essential.
• Experience supervising or supporting the development of colleagues within a legal environment.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a collaborative, proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of EL/PL claims, mainly Intermediate/Multi Track, valued £25,000–£100,000.
• Assess liability, causation and quantum; provide commercially focused advice to clients.
• Supervise and develop junior team members; participate in audits and MI reporting.
• Develop case strategies; progress files from instruction to conclusion using CM system.
• Draft Defences, witness statements and other pleadings; attend hearings as required.
• Achieve targets for chargeable hours, WIP and timely client information updates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality service and regulatory compliance.
