Job summary

Chorlton High School Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 2 - Literacy Intervention to join our fantastic team. The role focuses on delivering literacy intervention programmes to pupils, supporting reading and writing development, and helping pupils access the wider curriculum.

The post is permanent, part time (30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week). The pro-rata salary is £19,483 and the full time equivalent is £26,427.

Qualifications

• Caring, enthusiastic, and organised individual with passion for literacy development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with pupils, teachers, and parents.
• Good level of English and maths proficiency.
• Understanding of National Curriculum and learning barriers.
• Experience with children of relevant age is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned literacy intervention programmes to individuals or small groups.
• Support pupils reading and writing below age-related expectations.
• Assess pupils' literacy progress and identify development areas.
• Monitor, record, and report pupil progress.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, and inclusion at all times.
