Job summary

Evri Group, Exeter site, is seeking a permanent lorry driver for a night shift. Join a modern Volvo fleet and be part of a team delivering high standards of service across the UK.

The role is Mon-Fri, 15:00–Midnight, with a 45-hour week. You’ll drive long-haul segments, enjoy a supportive environment, and have opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence as a minimum.
• DCPC training hours completed or being worked toward them.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and commitment to safe use of the roads.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet, ensuring comfort and safety on the road.
• Manage 9-hour shifts on a Mon-Fri schedule, trunking to regional hubs during the night shift.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete a Defect Report if necessary.
• Scan consignments and operate pallet/ forklift equipment when required.
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers and plan routes with limited supervision.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
