Job summary

Evri Group Exeter site is seeking a Class 1 HGV driver for a permanent night-shift role (Mon-Fri, 18:00–04:00). You will operate a Volvo fleet, with high-spec features, on a 45-hour week.

Responsibilities include trunking to regional hubs, ensuring on-time deliveries, and occasionally loading or unloading. Daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting are required, with a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is required.
• Completed DCPC training hours or working toward them.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe road use.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from a Volvo fleet, with high-spec features.
• Work the night shift Mon-Fri, 18:00–04:00, with 9-hour shifts.
• Plan routes and trunk to regional hubs with independence.
• Ensure cages, pallets, freight, stillages and Yorks reach customers on time.
• Some sites may require loading/unloading; you may do it yourself.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and file a Defect Report if needed.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
