Job summary

Evri is seeking a Linehaul Driver in the Carlisle area. You will operate a modern Volvo fleet on a 45-hour weekly schedule, typically Sunday to Thursday with evening start times. The role emphasizes independence with night trunking and on-time deliveries, plus daily vehicle inspections.

Qualifications

Job description

Position: Linehaul Driver

Contract?Type: Permanent - 45 hours weekly

Location: Carlisle

Shift: Sunday - Thursday varied start time between 16:00 - 19:15

Salary: £42,798.60

Earn an additional £1.50 per hour with our seasonal allowance, payable up to and including Christmas Day 2026

What You'll Do:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.?They're?a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure?you're?comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and?9-hour?shifts per day which typically start at?5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where?you'll?be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We?don't?micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.?This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You'll?make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,?you'll?need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You'll?be responsible for?inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
