Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a proactive Licensing Administrator to coordinate and operate licensing administrative systems across Regulatory Services. You will manage renewals and new licences including taxi/private hire, alcohol and entertainment, events and other licensing, ensuring statutory timescales and accurate records.

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, operation and delivery of licensing administrative systems and processes carried out by the council’s Licensing team within Regulatory Services.
This is an exciting and important role, where you will be involved in a variety of licensing processes which includes the licensing of taxi and private hire vehicles and drivers, alcohol and regulated entertainment premises licences, temporary events, street trading, gambling and animal licensing.

We’re seeking a confident, organised and keen individual who can manage varied, time sensitive workloads with detail and accuracy. You will also have a genuine interest in public protection and supporting the business community.
You will have great customer service skills and have experience with working in direct contact with the public.
The role is hybrid with the expectation of attending the office at least once a week, service needs dependent. You will be required to attend meetings, and training when required. You will attend more frequently during your training.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
