Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is recruiting a Licensing Support Officer to join our Licensing team. The role is full-time and permanent, offering a competitive salary and the chance to work with a dedicated local authority team.

You will handle applications for hackney carriage and private hire drivers, vehicles and operators, take payments, and support licensing decisions on fitness and propriety, with face-to-face appointments and strong IT skills to manage paperwork and online

Qualifications

• Experience in administration work, including finance and payments.
• Experience of dealing directly, face to face, with customers and members of the public.
• Experience of working in a large organisation such as a local authority.
• IT literacy with wide experience of common applications.
• Previous experience in licensing would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Processing applications for hackney carriage and private hire drivers, vehicles and operators.
• Working with licensing officers to determine whether applicants are “fit and proper” to hold a licence.
• Taking payments and dealing with all of the required paperwork and online administration.
