Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsorand Maidenhead invites applications for a Licensing Support Officer to join our Licensing team. This full-time, permanent role involves processing hackney carriage and private hire applications, assessing fitness to hold licences, and managing payments and related paperwork.

You will work under the Licensing Team Leader, requiring strong administration, customer service, IT skills, and experience in local government.

Qualifications

Experience in administration work, including finance and payments.
Experience dealing directly with customers and the public.
Experience working in a large organisation such as a local authority.
IT literacy with wide experience of common applications.
Previous licensing experience would be desirable.

Responsibilities

The processing of applications for hackney carriage and private hire drivers, vehicles and operators, involving face to face appointments with the applicants.
Working with licensing officers to determine whether applicants are “fit and proper” to hold a licence.
Taking payments and dealing with all of the required paperwork and online administration.
