Job summary

East Sussex College Group is seeking a Library Support Tutor at the Lewes campus to provide a high-quality library service and information literacy support to students through 1:1s, groups and in-class sessions.

You will assist Library Advisors and help manage opening hours, noise levels, and student needs to create an inclusive, welcoming study environment with access to books, IT and resources.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English/Maths (or equivalent) and Level 3 Award in Education & Training or willingness to complete.
• Degree (with prior experience of research).
• Excellent understanding of common software including MS Office.
• Good understanding of cloud-based software including Google Drive/Classroom and MS 365.
• Good understanding of FE and library environment.
• Understanding of how libraries support development of information and life skills.
• Prior library experience.

Responsibilities

• Working with and supporting Library Advisors to ensure the library is covered during opening hours, some evenings and holidays.
• Delivering excellent customer services by multitasking and prioritising queries and tasks in a busy environment.
• Managing the library environment and maintaining noise levels and behaviour to ensure the library remains a safe and suitable study space.
