Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is seeking a Library and Resident Contact Supervisor to lead frontline teams, manage staffing and ensure a high-quality, safe library and resident contact service across locations.

You will line manage staff, support digital access, partner with volunteers and wider council services, and promote library offerings while maintaining welcoming spaces for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading frontline staff and managing performance.
• Ability to handle challenging or confrontational situations calmly and professionally.
• Experience using IT systems to support service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Managing staff performance, induction, training, probation and absence.
• Overseeing library spaces to keep them welcoming and tidy.
• Working with volunteers and partners to broaden resident support.
• Supporting social initiatives to tackle isolation and loneliness.
• Overseeing local stock management and digital library access.
• Promoting library services and identifying income opportunities.
• Supporting health and safety as Deputy RPBS.
