Job summary

Trafford Council is seeking a Library and Digital Apprentice/Advisor to work across several libraries, delivering services and helping with events, stock, and customer support. You will assist residents, signpost services, and promote digital resources.

As a digitally aware role, you will help customers access online services and navigate both digital and in-person enquiries, joining a friendly team across multiple library locations with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and motivated; able to work with customers.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Numerate and literate; proactive and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Deliver services across several libraries in the borough.
• Move around library buildings and support events and activities.
• Manage stock and assist with setting up furniture and equipment.
• Signpost residents, assist with accessing council services, and handle digital and face-to-face enquiries.
• Promote online resources and contribute to back-office processes including stock management and banking.
• Support library volunteers and help run diverse community programmes.
