Gloucestershire County Council's Gloucester Libraries is seeking a Library Assistant to support customers and contribute to a welcoming library service across Matson, Hucclecote and Longlevens.
You will help customers choose and issue books, maintain stock, run children's activities, and signpost to advice services while working independently and with volunteers in a hybrid environment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team in the Gloucester Libraries cluster as a Library Assistant. We are looking for dynamic individual with a sense of fun to help develop what we offer to our customers.
Our Library Assistants are the public face of the Library Service, making sure that our customers have access to all of the services that libraries provide.
This will include helping them choose and issue books, maintaining the stock in the library, signposting to advice services and providing children's activities. We're looking for someone who can work independently and with colleagues and volunteers, handle money and think on their feet.
The position is 16 hours per week, working between Matson (MN), Hucclecote (HE) and Longlevens (LS) libraries on a 2-week rota.
Week 1: Monday 2-5 (MN), Tuesday OFF, Wednesday 9.30-1 (MN), Thursday 2-5 (HE), Friday 9.30-1 (LS), and Saturday 10-1 (HE)
Week 2: Monday 1.30-5 (MN), Tuesday OFF, Wednesday 10-1 (MN), Thursday 2-5 (HE), Friday 9.30-1 (LS) and Saturday 10-1 (HE)
