Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced LGV (Light Goods Vehicle) Mechanic to join a renowned client based in Milton Keynes.

This family-owned company operates a large fleet of construction vehicles, including tippers, skip trucks, grab trucks, and low loaders. The successful candidate will undertake vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair to meet DVSA standards.

The role is based in a 6-bay workshop in Milton Keynes, working Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00, with Saturday hours from 07:00-13:00 paid at overtime rates.

Applications from ex-military personnel are encouraged, but all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• MOT preparation and presentation
• Vehicle inspections
• General servicing
• Correction and repair of vehicle defects
• Engine and gearbox repairs and overhauls
• Completion of all required paperwork
• Welding and fabrication
• Occasional breakdown and roadside diagnostic work

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a fully qualified LGV mechanic (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Full relevant driving license
• Diagnostic experience
