Job summary

Schenk UK is hiring experienced LGV Class 1 drivers for our waste operations at the Knostrop site, working Monday to Friday nights. This permanent role offers a stable shift pattern, competitive hourly rates and comprehensive training.

We value safety, compliance with transport regulations and a strong work ethic. Fully paid breaks, CPC training and PPE are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Requires LGV Class 1 licence with up to 6 points.
• Driver CPC and valid tachograph card required.
• Safety-focused mindset and at least 2 years Class 1 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV Class 1 tankers on nights, Monday to Friday.
• Follow Driver Transport Legislation and company safety policies.
• Complete all training, paperwork and shift handovers accurately.

Schenk UK is an innovative national tanker haulage business operating one of the largest road tanker fleets in the UK. For over 60 years, we’ve proudly served the chemicals, gas, fuels, waste, and powders sectors, making us the UK’s largest chemical transporter.

We’re now seeking experienced LGV Class 1 Drivers to join our waste operations team at our Knostrop site, working Monday to Friday - Nights.

Pay & Benefits

• £16.53 per hour (basic rate)
• Guaranteed 50 hours
• Overtime (Mon–Fri): £24.80/hr after 9 hours per shift
• Saturday overtime: £24.80/hr after 3 hours worked
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £33.06/hr after 3 hours worked
• Weekend working is part of the shift pattern (reflected in pay rates)
• Bank Holiday working also required (premium pay reflects unsocial hours)
• Fully paid breaks
• All CPC training hours, courses, accreditations & driver medicals paid
• Full PPE provided

What We’re Looking For

• LGV Class 1 licence (max 6 points)
• Driver CPC and valid tachograph card
• Minimum 2 years’ Class 1 experience
• Vacuum tanker experience preferred (training provided if required)
• Strong knowledge of Driver Transport Legislation
• Safety-focused mindset
