Stonewater is seeking a Specialist Case Worker to deliver informed, person-centred, strengths-based support to LGBTQ+ community members accessing Brighton Refuge. You’ll manage a caseload and help residents articulate aspirations and achieve potential.

You’ll collaborate with local and national LGBTQ+ charities, refer into the service, and focus safety planning sensitive to residents’ identities and risks; you’ll advocate for customers and support their move-on plans.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working with the LGBTQ+ community.
• Understanding practical, emotional, economic and social differences of LGBTQ+ members, including Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime or Discrimination.
• Proven caseload management experience with outcomes focus.
• Experience in robust safety planning.
• Ability to partner with specialist agencies such as mental health teams or other services.
• Specialist knowledge of local and national LGBTQ+ charities and support organisations.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Knowledge of housing and benefits advice (desirable).

Responsabilités

• Manage a caseload of residents through their journey with a strengths-based approach.
• Administer referrals into the Brighton Refuge service and focus on safety planning informed by identity and risks.
• Work with specialist support agencies and LGBTQ+ charities and statutory organisations.
• Advocate for residents and support planned, positive moves from the service.
