Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism in a dedicated SEN Unit at a secondary school in Bolton (BL6 7RU). This full-time, long-term role offers potential for permanency and progression within a supportive school community.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group support, work with teachers, SENCO and specialist staff to implement individual learning plans, and help pupils develop social, emotional, and academic skills in a

Qualifications

  • Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
  • Comfort handling challenging behaviours and complex needs.
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with young people.
  • Creative, proactive and flexible in supporting style.
  • Strong SEN and learning difficulties understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare resources and activities for 1:1 and small group support tailored to EHCP targets.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers / SENCO to organise activities and structured routines.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff within the SEN Unit.
  • Work with small groups and with pupils on a one-to-one basis.
  • Monitor and track development, supporting personal development, emotional regulation, and confidence.

The successful candidate will provide tailored support to pupils with high complex needs, working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and specialist support staff to implement individualized learning strategies and support plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Be creative, proactive, and flexible in your supporting style.
  • Deep understanding of SEN and learning difficulties.
