Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class in Wolverhampton starting ASAP. You will help pupils transition from EYFS to KS1, delivering targeted support in small groups and one-to-one sessions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, foster an inclusive learning environment, and build strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff. A Level 3 TA qualification and prior EYFS/Year 1 experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working within EYFS and Year 1 settings.
• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
• Confidence delivering both small group interventions and one-to-one support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Proven school-based experience supported by strong references.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 1 classroom.
• Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a child with SEN.
• Assisting with interventions to support academic and social development.
• Helping to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed.
