Teaching Personnel in NN15, Kettering, is seeking a Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. You will support pupils with SEND, work with teachers to implement plans, and promote inclusion and progress.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of 92.63–100 GBP. A DBS check and safeguarding training are expected as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

  • Holds, or is working towards, a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Genuine interest in supporting children with SEND.
  • Patient, compassionate and resilient.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, social and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and the implementation of individual support plans.
  • Help pupils develop independence and positive behaviour.
  • Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities where required.
  • Work effectively with teachers, SEND staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Record and communicate relevant observations and progress.

About the role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils with their learning, communication, social and emotional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
