Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistants in Towcester (NN12). The roles are full-time, 8:30am-3:30pm, permanent/long-term, with immediate or September 2026 starts.

You will work closely with teachers to support pupils in reaching their full potential. Ideal candidates are energetic, caring and committed to education, with experience supporting SEN and a passion for helping children develop academically and socially.

Qualifications

• Qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant with classroom experience.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient, nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist with classroom activities and targeted interventions.
• Support SEN and additional learning needs within inclusive settings.
• Help create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Foster pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents/carers.

Position: Level 2 & Level 3 Teaching Assistants

Hours: Full-time, 8:30am-15:30pm

Contract: Permanent / Long-term opportunities available

Start Date: Immediate / September 2026

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistants to join supportive school environments and make a real difference to children and young people's learning and development.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other education professionals to support pupils in reaching their full potential. Duties may include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Assisting with classroom activities and interventions
• Supporting children with SEN and additional learning needs
• Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents/carers
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development

We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Previous experience working with children or young people
• A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, nurturing and positive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as some schools may be in rural locations around Towcester

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, autism, SEMH or communication needs would be advantageous.
