Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the Durham (DH1) area. You will work with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

You will assist with learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing, provide in-class support, deliver interventions, and promote inclusion. The role operates term-time with a dedicated consultant and access to CPD and training.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting SEN and across multiple year groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support to pupils across different year groups.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

Location: Durham, DH1
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Term-time, via Teaching Personnel

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the DH1 area of Durham is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in a nurturing school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning experience. You will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Provide in-class support to pupils across different year groups
  • Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Ideally have experience supporting SEN and working across multiple year groups
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
