Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking a Casual Site Lettings Assistant to support the safe and orderly use of school premises during lettings, including evenings, weekends and school holidays. You will act as key holder, open/close premises and respond to health and safety matters to ensure smooth operations and learning continuity.

The role requires practical site tasks, coordination with lettings users, and maintaining a welcoming, secure environment. Casual hours are involved.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with lettings users, colleagues, students, parents and carers.
• Experience in a customer-facing role and similar environment.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, take initiative, work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work casual hours during evenings, weekends and school holidays.
• Knowledge of health and safety, and building maintenance basics.
• Reliable, confidential and responsible with a strong sense of ownership.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe use of school premises during lettings periods by communicating health and safety policy and emergency procedures.
• Maintain site security by acting as key holder and opening/closing the school as required.
• Ensure lettings areas are tidy, safe, secure and ready for normal use.
• Prepare and restore lettings areas and assist with equipment and furniture.
• Monitor areas through facility inspections and report defects or concerns.
• Report issues to Site Manager or appropriate manager and take action as needed.
• Undertake practical site tasks including minor maintenance and cleaning duties.
• Direct visitors and lettings users to the correct hire area and provide contact points.
• Maintain professional relationships with lettings users and staff across sites.
