Job summary

Lift Sir Herbert Leon Leisure Centre, part of Lift Schools, seeks a motivated Leisure Centre Duty Manager to lead daily operations, ensure safety and deliver high-quality customer service within a busy leisure facility.

You will supervise staff, maintain health and safety standards, oversee pool operations and contribute to programme planning and community engagement. A keyholder role supports emergency procedures and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification.
• NPLQ Lifeguard Qualification is essential and prior leisure centre experience is beneficial.
• Additional qualifications such as Level 1/2 Swimming Teacher Qualification, Pool Plant Operator Certificate or First Aid at Work are advantageous.
• Previous management experience is advantageous for this role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee swimming pool operations and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Carry out pool water tests and plant maintenance.
• Lifeguard swimming sessions and ensure facilities are well maintained.
• Support staff recruitment, training and development.
• Assist with planning and delivery of leisure programmes and activities.
• Promote the Centre's services to the local community.
• Act as a keyholder and support emergency procedures.
