Our people care, dare and collaborate to ensure we achieve this People Powered Living.

This role

Housing compliance is essential to ensuring that properties are safe, habitable, and meet the needs of the tenant. The Access team within Compliance and Technical Services is responsible for preventing the need to go to court where possible and to manage possession proceedings where we have exhausted every other option.

The Access Team will be the guardians of our access process, mainly for the heating team, but responsible for all compliance where required and will be the last stop in our service provision where access is refused or unable to be obtained by the contractors or compliance teams.

Reporting to the Legal Casework Team Leader the Legal Caseworker will support the work of the Compliance & Technical Department by managing the legal process when we need to gain access to our properties to fulfil our compliance obligations as a landlord.

This will include responsibility for attending court, serving paperwork where applicable and ensuring that the contractors have and are following robust and fit for purpose access process before, during and after any cases are referred. You will also be responsible for cases where access is not the issue, for example hoarding, subletting or ASB.

This will mean dealing with all type of front line staff and residents, from private let, social housing to home ownership and providing support to our compliance teams so that the compliance service to our internal clients is to an excellent standard, as well as dealing with other stakeholders where appropriate such as social services and local authorities.

Another key aspect of this role will be to work tirelessly to prevent having to go to court for access where possible, and to manage possession proceedings where we have exhausted every other option. You will also need to work closely with front line staff to ensure that legal action is appropriate and proportionate
