The Role
Responsibilities

As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to the Conveyancing Team, enabling lawyers to focus on technical and complex matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting straightforward legal documents (with appropriate guidance)
  • Preparing files for billing and completion
  • Opening and managing case files
  • Ordering searches and Land Registry documents
  • Screening and directing incoming calls
  • Sorting and prioritising incoming mail, emails, and messages
  • Providing friendly and professional client service
  • Ensuring compliance with LEXCEL standards and Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Assisting with reception cover as required
The Ideal Candidate

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working in a legal environment (ideally in conveyancing)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be proactive, organised, and able to work at pace
  • Have strong attention to detail and administrative skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism in approach
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Ideally have experience working in a busy conveyancing team, although this is not essential
