Job summary

Coventry University Group is seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) in Social Work to deliver teaching and course co-ordination across undergraduate, postgraduate, apprenticeship and professional programmes within CU Health and Care.

You will work with colleagues to integrate research, enterprise and professional context into modules, contribute to curriculum development, supervise placements, and participate in recruitment activities while upholding our commitment to an active learning pedagogy and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.
• Current Social Work England Registration with post qualifying social work experience.
• A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held.
• Practice Education qualification and experience would be advantageous (PEPS 2).
• PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 across the suite of Social Work courses - Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Degree Apprenticeship. This will include curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching semesters.
• Contribute to Curriculum Development drawing on your professional experience within Social Work.
• Supporting with Social Work placements on BA and MA programmes
• Contributing to the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship Programme within specialist areas.
• Contribute to recruitment activities for Social Work courses across the academic year.
