Hours: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Salary: Band 6 (non-negotiable) - 43,482 to 48,823 per annum (pay award pending)

About The Post

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, student-focused Lecturer in Psychology to contribute to the delivery and continued development of our undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes. We welcome applications from candidates who hold a PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline and who are eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS). This is a teaching focused post.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, assessment and curriculum development across a range of psychology modules. They will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations and contribute to the support and supervision of doctoral researchers. We are particularly interested in applicants who are committed to inclusive, research-informed teaching and who can contribute to the continued growth and success of our Psychology provision.

About The Team

The Psychology team sits within the Department of Counselling, Psychology and Social Work, part of the vibrant School of Health, Sciences and Society. The School brings together a dynamic and interdisciplinary portfolio of programmes, including Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Allied Health Professions, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Wildlife and Ecology, Nutrition, and Sport.

About You

• You hold a PhD or equivalent and have eligibility for graduate membership of, or Chartered Status with, the British Psychological Society.
• You have experience of delivering high quality teaching to students from diverse backgrounds.
• You have the potential to engage in relevant research and/or scholarship and ensure teaching is research informed.
• You are an effective team player with excellent communication skills, and able to plan and organise you work effectively, whilst being able to be flexible to meet the demands of the role
• You are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners and decolonising the curriculum.
• You are open to new ideas and new ways of working including our innovative block approach.
