Job summary

Arden University in Nottingham is seeking a Lecturer in Psychology to join the Department of Psychology - UG to work on our Nottingham Campus. You will contribute to the development and delivery of our programmes and deliver excellent teaching, learning and support to our students.

You will act as a Personal Academic Coach, lead modules, design digital materials and provide high-quality feedback, while managing your teaching load and contributing to school activities.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Psychology with GBC recognised by the BPS
  • Experience in teaching, learning, assessment, dissertation supervision and pastoral care in Higher Education
  • Track record of contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring lecturer
  • AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12–18 months

This role will require a presence of at least4 days a week on our Nottingham Campus, with1 day working from home to suit the student timetable. You maybe required to be on campus5 days a weekin some cases,based on teaching and meeting requirements. Our hybrid working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit which could changes at any point during your employment,so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About the Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Psychology to join our Department of Psychology - UG to work in our Nottingham Campus. In this role you will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of our programmes. You will:

  • Deliver excellent teaching, learning and support to our students.
  • Act as a Personal Academic Coach (PAC), supporting students' engagement, progression and academic success.
  • Lead and develop modules, ensuring high-quality learning materials and curriculum development.
  • Design excellent digital teaching material ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
  • Undertake assessment marking, design authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Manage your own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
  • Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Actively contribute to School level activity.
About You:

To be successful as a Lecturer in Psychology you will need:

  • An MSc or equivalent qualification in Psychology, with Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience in teaching, learning, assessment, dissertation supervision, and pastoral care practices in Higher Education.
  • A track record of successfully contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring and creative lecturer.
  • AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12-18 months.
  • We encourage applications from those with experience in teaching across the required BPS curriculum and topics related to clinical/counselling/mental health.

Highly Desirable Criteria:

  • A PhD (or close to completion) in Psychology or a closely related subject.
  • Expertise in, or a willingness to engage in, appropriate applied AI practices.
