Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre in Chippenham is seeking an English lecturer to teach GCSE and Functional Skills English, helping learners overcome barriers and build confidence in reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will create engaging lessons and support learners to achieve qualifications that open doors to new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A relevant English qualification (Level 3 or above)
  • Strong subject knowledge in English
  • Experience working with learners or supporting others in education or training

  • A Level 4 teaching qualification or above is welcomed, with support to achieve it while you work

Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess learners across GCSE and Functional Skills English
  • Deliver engaging, accessible lessons developing reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • Support learners with varying abilities, including those lacking confidence in English
  • Use inclusive, practical approaches to make English relevant to life, work and study
  • Maintain high safeguarding, professionalism and learner wellbeing
  • Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement

What We Offer
Salary:

Unqualified Lecturer: £29,294 per year, pro rata

Qualified Lecturer: £31,885 - £40,814 per year, pro rata

(Depending on Skills, Qualifications & Experience)

Contract Type:

Permanent, Part Time 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

What You'll Do
  • Teach and assess learners across a range of English programmes, including GCSE and Functional Skills

What You'll Bring
