Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre seeks a Specialist Support Coach in Chippenham to deliver tailored learning support for students with additional needs. The role involves 1:1, small group and in-class interventions, supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.

You will manage caseloads, monitor attendance and study skills, and contribute to EHCP outcomes while promoting independence and confidence. This is a full-time post with term-time considerations.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in education, care, youth work or SEN support.
  • Be willing to work towards a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • A patient, empathetic, and student-centred approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs in and out of the classroom.
  • Manage 1:1, small group and in-class interventions to support learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
  • Monitor attendance, study skills, English and maths, engagement and progression.
  • Contribute to EHCP outcomes and positive learner progression.
  • Help learners develop independence, confidence and life skills.
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual needs and work with staff to ensure student success.

What We Offer

Salary: £23,247 rising to £23,734 per year (Full-time equivalent £25,304 - £25,835 per year)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 37 hours per week, Term Time Only 36+4 weeks per year

What You’ll Do
  • Provide tailored support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom
  • You will provide tailored support through 1:1, small group and in-class interventions, supporting learners with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties
  • Manage a caseload of learners, supporting attendance, study skills, English and Maths, engagement and achievement
  • Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support positive learner progression
  • Assist students in developing independence, confidence, and essential life skills
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning requirements
  • Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure student success
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and encouraging learning environment
What You’ll Bring
