Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Learning Support Worker to support adults with Specific Learning Differences in a specialist adult learning setting in Frome.

This part-time, temporary role runs every Wednesday, 9:30am to 2:30pm, with pay £14.25–£16.68 per hour and ongoing consultant support.

You will complete brief session summaries and collaborate with tutors to help learners access education and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Training or qualifications in education, SEN, or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written skills to record learner progress and support.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Worker to support young adults within a specialist adult learning setting in the Frome area.

You will play a key role in helping learners access their education, build confidence, and achieve their personal learning goals. The role also requires the completion of a brief written summary after each session, documenting the support provided and learner progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to learners with Specific Learning Differences.
• Help learners engage with course content and develop effective learning strategies.
• Promote independence, confidence, and participation within the learning environment.
• Adapt support approaches to meet individual learner needs.
• Maintain accurate records and complete concise session summaries following each support session.
• Work collaboratively with tutors and other professionals to ensure learners receive the support they need.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience supporting young adults or adults with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD).
• Relevant training or qualifications in education, SEN, learning support, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written skills to accurately record learner progress and support provided.
• A patient, empathetic, and professional approach.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
