Job summary

St David Recruitment is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs within a welcoming educational environment.

You’ll work with teaching staff and the SEN team to tailor classroom support, encourage engagement and help the pupil develop academically and socially, with safeguarding at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Must have enhanced DBS.
• Teaching Assistant qualifications and previous SEN experience are desirable, but the right attitude matters.

Responsibilities

St David Recruitment is looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning needs within a welcoming educational environment.

You’ll work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to provide tailored classroom support, encourage positive engagement and help the pupil develop both academically and socially.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Patient, empathetic and genuinely passionate about supporting young people
• Confident building positive and trusting relationships
• Able to adapt their approach to individual learning needs
• Understanding of, or experienced in, supporting SEN
• A strong communicator and team player
• Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Must have enhanced DBS

Teaching Assistant qualifications and previous SEN experience are desirable, but we’re particularly interested in finding the right person with the right attitude and approach.

Location: Somerset

Salary: 13.45

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:00pm

Contract: Temporary (Possible Perm for the right candidate)
