Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work across Southampton's primary and secondary SEND schools, supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups and helping them access the curriculum.

Candidates should have experience with children or young people and be available at least four days per week; an Enhanced DBS is required or willingness to apply. Pay is £14.30 per hour, with holiday pay included. This temp role may lead to longer-term opportunities.

SEND Learning Support Assistant (Primary & Secondary)

Learning Support Assistant - SEND Schools

Southampton

£14.30 per hour

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work in a range of primary and secondary schools across Southampton that support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

These schools cater for children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • Helping students access the curriculum
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social development
  • Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • This could include education, youth work, care work, medical settings, Camp America, sports coaching or similar roles
  • Availability at least 4 days per week
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
