Job summary

Gower College Swansea invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant on a fixed-term, part-time basis (20–25 hours per week) for 36 weeks per year at Jubilee Court, Fforest Fach.

You will support learners in class, help develop literacy and numeracy skills, assist with pastoral needs and coordinate learner workloads, working closely with teaching staff to enable progression and engagement.

Qualifications

• Maths and English GCSEs at A–C level or equivalent.
• Experience working with young people in a similar role.
• Knowledge of needs of students with additional learning needs.
• Confident, resilient, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support as directed in classroom.
• Assist with development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
• Support pastoral care needs and direct learners to college support where needed.
• Assist with coordinating learners’ work, record keeping and progress with staff.
