The Northumberland Church of England Academy invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant in its Duke’s Secondary School. You will join a newly established Specialist Support Base to support students with EHCPs related to SEMH needs, helping them access learning and grow academically and personally.
You will work alongside the SSB Teacher and HLTA, fostering a nurturing environment and contributing to pupil wellbeing, engagement and progress.
Salary: Band 3 £25,583 – £25,989 pro rata (actual £19,389 – £19,696)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days
Contract: Permanent

Duke’s Secondary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our newly established Specialist Support Base (SSB).
Working alongside the SSB Teacher and HLTA, you will support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) relating to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will help create a nurturing learning environment where students feel supported, encouraged and able to develop both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable and an excellent team player, with the ability to build positive relationships and encourage students to become confident, independent learners. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people every day.
