Job summary

The Northumberland Church of England Academy invites applications for a Learning Support Assistant in its Duke’s Secondary School. You will join a newly established Specialist Support Base to support students with EHCPs related to SEMH needs, helping them access learning and grow academically and personally.

You will work alongside the SSB Teacher and HLTA, fostering a nurturing environment and contributing to pupil wellbeing, engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with EHCPs and SEMH needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Patience, adaptability and a proactive team player.

Responsibilities

• Support students in accessing learning activities and achieving individual goals.
• Deliver planned interventions and provide feedback on progress.
• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Work with teachers and staff to support learning, behaviour and pastoral needs.
• Promote independence and positive relationships inside and outside the classroom.
