Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for Duke’s Secondary School in Ashington. This role supports students and teachers during the busy academic year, helping with instructions, behaviour, and lesson materials.
Primary duties include supervising learning access, encouraging engagement, and modelling positive conduct. The ideal candidate will be resilient, organised and work independently or in a team within a busy classroom.
Salary: Band 3 £25,583 – £25,989 pro rata (actual £9,545 – £9,696 part time, £19,389 – £19,696 full time)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 16 or 32.5 hours per week available, term time plus 5 additional days

Duke’s Secondary School is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Learning Support Assistant to support the students and teachers throughout the busy academic year. Day to day duties involve helping the students follow class instructions, supporting the teacher with behaviour management, and helping prepare lesson materials.
The ideal candidate will be resilient, organised and able to work both independently and as a part of a team in a busy classroom environment. You will assist the teacher with the delivery of the lesson and help the students engage in activities.
