Job summary

Cheadle Primary School is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support children’s learning in a primary setting. The role requires at least one year of relevant experience, NVQ Level 2/3, and literacy/numeracy skills.

The ideal candidate will understand curriculum development, child development principles, and be able to plan actions for pupils at risk of underachievement. ICT proficiency and strong communication will be essential for collaboration in a school team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children’s learning in an educational setting; speech and language interventions desirable.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent).
  • Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice.
  • Understanding of curriculum matters; can contribute to curriculum development, planning, evaluation and implementation.
  • In-depth understanding of areas of learning (English, maths, science, SEND, Early Years).
  • Understanding of child development principles and learning processes.
  • Ability to plan effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team player with initiative.
