Job summary

Stockport School in Stockport is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help pupils with additional learning needs, including those with EHCPs. The role focuses on supporting teaching, learning and progress and developing independent learning skills.

Candidates should have strong GCSEs in English and Maths (C/4 or above), plus additional GCSEs and/or A Levels. A graduate with honours or recognised teaching status is desirable.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and mathematics at minimum grade C/4 or above.
• Good GCSE and/or A Level results in other subjects.
• Graduate with an honours degree or higher qualification is desirable; QTS or Teaching Assistant status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching, learning and progression of students with additional needs.
• Contribute to reading and literacy interventions and enrichment activities.
• Assist with lunchtime duties and supervise student work.
• Support well-being and independent learning skills.
