Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEND at The Leys College, Blackbird Leys. You will provide 1:1 and group support to learners aged 16-19 across Entry Level to Level 3, including T Levels, primarily in Construction & Enginering or ICT & Esports. The role includes personal care and training requirements.

The contract is fixed-term until July 2027, with a 37-hour week during term time, and benefits like LGPS pension and other staff perks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Minimum GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or above.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND.
• Assist students to access the curriculum and achieve learning goals.
• Support development of independence, life skills and employability.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with tutors and support services.
• Attend and complete relevant training including personal care, medication and manual handling.
