Job summary

Activate Learning is looking for Learning Support Assistants to join Banbury College, supporting students with SEND to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

You will work with teaching staff to support learners in and out of the classroom, helping develop independence, life skills and employability, while participating in safeguarding training and related development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults with SEND (desirable)
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above required
• Patient, empathetic and positive approach; strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND (entry level to GCSE/Level 3)
• Assist students to access the curriculum and achieve learning goals
• Support development of independence, life skills and employability
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt resources and approaches to meet individual needs
• Work collaboratively with tutors and support services
• Support students with personal care and medication where needed
• Attend and complete relevant training including personal care and manual handling
