Learning Practitioner - Huddersfield & Surrounding Areas

We're currently recruiting for Learning Practitioners to join schools and educational settings in and around Huddersfield, on a long or short-term basis starting in September.
This role is on a supply basis and could either be day-to-day work or a Longer-Term position, depending on your preference.
This is a fantastic opportunity for new or experienced Learning Practitioners who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning, development and wellbeing.
You'll be joining supportive, inclusive schools that place pupils' education, wellbeing and individual needs at the centre of everything they do. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to build strong relationships with pupils and become a familiar and trusted member of the school community.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with their learning and development, providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to deliver learning activities and support pupils to achieve their individual targets.
- Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and engagement with their education.
- Provide appropriate support for pupils with additional learning needs, SEND or behavioural needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model within the school environment.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all pupils by following safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
Requirements or Skills:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, youth work or similar setting is desirable.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Learning Support or relevant childcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond positively to different pupil needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to succeed.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the Right to Work in the UK.
