Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across partner Manchester schools on a day-to-day, short-term, long-term or temp-to-perm basis starting September 2026.

You will support teachers with engaging activities, provide 1:1 and small-group assistance, and help pupils with their academic, social and emotional development within a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with children or young people in education, care or similar setting.
  • Desirable Level 2/3 TA or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • Passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable and reliable approach across different schools.
  • Ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Confident supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities across the curriculum.

  • Assist with classroom preparation, organisation and learning resources.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote welfare of all children and young people.

Requirements or Skills:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people within an education, care or similar setting.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable and reliable approach to working across different school environments.
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Confident supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
