Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across partner schools in Manchester on a day-to-day, short-term, long-term or temp-to-perm basis, starting September 2026. You’ll gain experience across a range of welcoming schools while enjoying flexibility to choose when and where you work.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in education, care or similar setting.
  • Qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable and reliable across different school environments.
  • Ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities across the curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help them achieve learning goals.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support positive behaviour and encourage pupil confidence and independence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and wider school staff.
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and other staff to meet pupils' needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote welfare of all children and young people.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Requirements or Skills:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people within an education, care or similar setting.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable and reliable approach to working across different school environments.
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
